Here’s an idea for a vegetarian Thanksgiving meal that’s tastier than Tofurky, and a lot better looking: A turkey dinner with all the fixings rendered in candy.

Since Lisa Hodes bought Sweeties Candy Cottage in Huntington in 2005, she and her team have been creating holiday platters with a centerpiece that is a ½-pound turkey made from milk chocolate. The platter also features cranberries (red cherry JuJu coins), white chocolate mashed potatoes with milk chocolate and salted caramel gravy, orange chocolate sweet potatoes with mini marshmallows, Sixlet peas and tangerine Jelly Belly carrots, caramel-coconut stuffing and fruit jelly fruit salad.

The turkey itself is stuffed, but the type of stuffing is a mystery — even to employees at Sweeties who didn’t actually construct the birds. (Previous years’ stuffings have included s’mores, caramel popcorn and chocolate pretzels.)

Turkey candy dinners are $50 and are best ordered in advance. You can pick them up until 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Sweeties Candy Cottage is at 142 E. Main St., Huntington, 631-423-7625, sweetiescandycottage.com.
