Syosset: 516 opens ahead of schedule

When Moules et Frites closed earlier this month, owner Dean Kois of Reststar said that the location would reopen as 516 Kitchen and American Grill. Remarkably, that has come to pass. 516 opened “soft” last week.
516 represents a partnership between Reststar (which operates Bistro Cassis in Huntington, Brasserie Cassis in Plainview, Bistro Citron in Roslyn and La P’tite Framboise in Port Washington and Café Buenos Aires in Huntington) and Michael Russo, most recently manager of Portico Wood Fire Grill in Hauppauge and, before that, co-owner of Hauppauge’s Pomodorino.
Russo said that 516 aims to serve American comfort food at reasonable prices. Dinner appetizers and salads range from $6.95 to $12.95, pastas from $13.95 to $22.95, mains from $16.95 to $23.95.
516 (great name) is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and brunch and dinner on Sunday. 516 Kitchen and American Grill will be at 4 Berry Hill Rd., Syosset, 516-802-0713.
Moules et Frites is now 516 Kitchen and American Grill.
