If you're anywhere near the Syosset train station and need a husky meal, Bella Notte is your stop.
This northern offspring of the Bellmore restaurant sends out hearty Italian-American specialties and delivers good service, too.
The standout at a recent dinner: chicken a la Bella Notte, which is to say a tender roasted bird supported by sausages, potatoes, onions, peppers and broccoli. It's a hefty dish for one that easily could feed two. The kitchen prepares a savory stuffed artichoke and ample stuffed mushrooms, too. Stick with the tomato-tinted sauces for pastas.
