Tellers, the "American chophouse," starts a week of 13th anniversary deals on Monday, including discounts on wine and fixed-price dinners.
The restaurant, situated in a converted 1927 bank building, has a new executive chef, Cornelius Gallagher, who has starred at establishments on Long Island and in Manhattan. Gallagher is expected to unveil a new menu this fall.
Tellers, a member of the Bohlsen Restaurant Group that includes Prime in Huntington, Verace in Islip, and H2O in Smithtown, has an 8,000-bottle wine "cellar" in the bank's vintage vault. The discounts will range from $20 to $1,000. There will be unlimited refills on wine by the glass for $10.
The three-course, fixed-price dinner is $50. First-course choices include shrimp-and-lobster wontons and Caesar salad; main dishes, Delmonico steak with crisp onions and truffle-butter sauce, petit filet mignon with Bearnaise sauce, and pan-roasted salmon with spinach, bacon-potato hash and mustard; dessert, either cinnamon-streusel cheesecake or fudge layer cake.
The restaurant also will offer a series of 6 p.m. wine classes by beverage director Paulo Villela held on the first Friday of each month, starting in September. A tasting of six wines and appetizers will be available for $50 per person.
Tellers, 605 Main St., Islip; 631-277-1077.
