It seems like everywhere you turn, there’s a fast-casual bowl concept launching another Island outpost — think Bango, Cava, Qdoba, the many iterations of poke. Enter Teriyaki Madness (TMAD for short), a teriyaki bowl concept launching its first Long Island store in North Babylon Friday, the second in New York State.

For those who crave the taste of teriyaki but value convenience, Teriyaki Madness is Seattle-based concept founded in 2003 that offers customizable bowls loaded with proteins, including marinated chicken, steak, salmon and tofu. Start with a rice or yakisoba noodle base, add fresh veggies, then choose your sauces (all gluten-free). Or go for eight signature bowls, including spicy chicken teriyaki (from $9.99), orange chicken, salmon teriyaki, steak teriyaki, chicken katsu and spicy tofu.

Sides include chicken egg rolls ($2.99), chicken potstickers ($5.99) and edamame ($4.49) in addition to brown, white or fried rice and noodles. Three portion sizes — junior, regular and large — range from $9.99 to $13.99 before adding extras. With more than 200 shops across 41 states, the concept has definitely caught on.

Friday's grand opening in North Babylon will award the first five guests to make a purchase free Teriyaki Madness for one year. A $6 special on chicken teriyaki bowls — made with chicken thighs — will be available Friday and Saturday.

The North Babylon location is owned by franchisee group Yummy Restaurants LLC, and is the first of several planned Teriyaki Madness restaurants to open in the region.

Teriyaki Madness North Babylon, 1201 Deer Park Ave., North Babylon, 631-392-4107, teriyakimadness.com; Open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
