The Boat House in Glen Cove: First bites

Into the former home of The Hideaway comes The Boat House.
The dining room is brighter. And the staff is friendly. But this isn't exactly a dining destination. It's a summery stop for casual eating and imbibing, situated at the Brewer Yacht Yard. Alfresco tables are shaded by Ferrarelle umbrellas.
Better choices: The burger, with Cheddar, bacon and onion straws; Cajun-style shrimp poppers with Creole mayo for the full N.O.; and a production dubbed "wasabi pea crusted tuna," pictured above. The tuna itself is fine; any hint of those snacky wasabi peas, let alone wasabi, minimal.
Desserts are centered on ice cream.
