The Orient, Bethpage: Another update

The past few weeks, I’ve been barraged with inquiries about when The Orient in Bethpage will reopen. Unable to provide an accurate answer, I called owner Tommy Tan.

Here’s the story. The renovations are just about (but not entirely) complete. The big thing now is for all the inspections to be made. Tan said everything should be in place sometime in July.

What will be different: Marble floors instead of that dreary carpeting. A few booths. The rest will become apparent when The Orient is once more  serving its garlic fried chicken and roast pork buns.
