Mint makes a "splashy" debut in Garden City, Peter Gianotti writes in today's Newsday. He recommends the chat papri, well-seasoned tandoori chicken and fine lamb vindaloo, among other dishes.
Joan Reminick gives two-and-a-half stars to Vinoco Wine Bar & Tapas Restaurant in this week's Cheap Eats column. The new Mineola restaurant has wide-ranging dishes, from "crisp roasted potatoes a la brava in a piquant red chili aioli," to soft, steamed Asian buns, a trio of potato timbales and "delectably crisp" empanadas.
