This week, Peter Gianotti reviews Vintage Restaurant Bar and Lounge, which  "already is beefing up dining out where New Hyde Park and Garden City Park meet, a stretch that's ready for ciao time, too.”   He especially likes the gnocchi alla Bolognese and the grilled pork chop.

Joan Reminick reviews SaVino’s Restaurant & Wine Bar in Lynbrook. “It may look like countless Long Island pizza-pasta spots, with its pizza counter on one side, dining room on the other,” she writes. But  “it has something the others don't: Tony The Wine Guy Caracci.''  Of the restaurant's meatballs, Reminick says, they'll make you "glad to be in a place where ground beef, bread crumbs, egg and spices come together so lightly and so well.''
