Ristorante Venere in Westbury gets one-and-a-half stars from Joan Reminick in this week's Cheap Eats column. Reminick touts the chicken Parmigiana, which comes with a "knockout" tomato sauce, and a refreshing calarmari-scungilli salad along with chocolate mousse and Napoleon for dessert.

Peter Gianotti gives two stars to Swallow, a cozy new restaurant in Huntington, in today's Newsday. The restaurant serves an eclectic mix of entrees ranging from a refreshing Japanese cucumber salad with snow crab, to lush mushroom risotto, and even a savory beef moussaka.
