Peter M. Gianotti gives one-and-a-half stars to Piri Piri, a new Portuguese restaurant in Mineola. He praises the frango de churrasco, or juicy barbecued chicken served with fries and a salad, and the grilled linguiça, a spicy and smoky pork sausage, among other dishes.
Ritz Cafe in Northport gets one-and-a-half stars from Newsday's Joan Reminick, who recommends the popular restaurant's baked clams, crab-stuffed mushrooms, smoky grilled pork chop topped with pan-fried onion wisps, and even the burger.
