In this week’s Newsday, Joan Reminick bestows three stars on the singular The Phoenix in Seaford, where chef Ryan Augusta “cooks with both skill and confidence,” tweaking new American classics with imaginative international accents.

Peter Gianotti visits Andiamo in Mineola, the new home of star chef George Echeverria. Echeverria, Gianotti writes, who “earned high ratings for Amicale in Huntington Station and at the departed Soigné in Woodmere, makes this newcomer worth visiting, whether you’re here for Italian-American or French-continental.”
