I can't blow my disguise and tell you where I’ll be eating this beautiful weekend-to-be. That's my secret – at least until I write about it next week.

What I can tell you is where I might go if I didn’t already have plans.

IN NASSAU

In Freeport, I’d reserve a spot at Wildfish, where chef Brad Rubano’s warm weather seafood menu (raw clams, steamers, grilled mahi mahi over tropical fruit salad) goes well with a cold drink and a water view. On  "chill out” Sunday (Father’s Day), Caribbean music will amp up the escapism factor.

Wildfish is at 507 Guy Lombardo Ave. Freeport, 516-442-0565.

IN SUFFOLK

D'Angelo's Sausage & Pepper House  is about as close as Huntington Station gets to a street fair in Little Italy. Outdoors, at a metal picnic table (in view of non-scenic Jericho Turnpike), you sink your teeth into the signature sausage and pepper sandwich or a drippy-delicious Philly cheesesteak (sandwich or platter). Frankfurters run garlicky juices when bitten; they can  be ordered deep-fried, with peppers, onions and potatoes — guilty pleasure, for sure.

D'Angelo's Sausage & Pepper House is at 918 E. Jericho Tpke., Huntington Station, 631-424-0653.
