The magazine praised Jewel’s wine list, which “offers a balance of selections from the Old and New World, with more than 30 percent of the 350 selections drawn from Long Island.” It singled out as a “perfect pairing” Cutchogue’s Waters Crest’s 2007 Grand Vin Cabernet Franc with the kitchen’s miso-glazed Crescent Farms duck breast with duck fried rice, parsnip puree and candied kumquat.
Jewel is at 400 Broadhollow Road Melville, NY 631-755-5777, jewelrestaurantli.com.
