Toro Pazzo (Italian for “crazy bull”) stampedes into the Wantagh strip mall space that earlier this year housed Trattachino and, before that, Lounge Burger.
Owner Chris Santoro said the restaurant's logo, a cartoon bull, is designed to “get people talking” about what he defines as “a fun type” of Italian dining spot outfitted with a bar and a waterfall.
Chef Alan Pucci hails from Lucca, Italy. On his menu: Sicilian-style stuffed artichoke ($7.95), chicken breast in puff pastry with cremini mushrooms, mashed potatoes and spinach ($18.95) and house-made gnocchi with arugula and crushed walnuts in a light cream sauce ($16.95).
Toro Pazzo is at 753 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, 516-731-8700.
