La Fontana is the new name of Tre Scalini, a Melville Italian restaurant that, last year, opened a second spot in Farmingdale. The two restaurants are no longer affiliated.
At La Fontana, chef/owner Tony Dushaj has given the place a makeover — new siding, a little outdoor fountain plus new tables, chairs and lighting inside.
The menu, Dushaj said, remains pretty much what it was. A few dishes, though, have had name changes; The former chicken Tre Scalini is now chicken La Fontana ($15.95), done with eggplant, mushrooms and mozzarella. And what used to be rigatoni Tre Scalini is now rigatoni La Fontana ($13.95), a vodka-sauced pasta with chicken and spinach.
La Fontana is at 672 Walt Whitman Rd. in Melville, 631-673-1766.
Tre Scalini is at 196 Main St., Farmingdale, 516-249-0140.
