Yes, the clock springs ahead an hour this weekend. So that makes every minute of the weekend worth a little more. You definitely won't be wasting your time at these three establishments, where the pace is brisk and the food is good.

You won't mind an early morning at Toast & Co. in Huntington, a very satisfying, very popular stop for breakfast. Recommendations include the ricotta-lemon pancakes, "cheesy" grits, Belgian waffle, stuffed French toast, omelets and other egg dishes, plus skillets.

There's a friendly style at Horace and Sylvia's Publick House in Babylon, a comfortable, neighborhood hangout. Among the winning dishes are a special of lobster bisque, cornmeal-crusted grouper, seared-tuna crisps, endive-beet-and-spinach salad and chicken-shrimp jambalaya.
