On the cusp of Super Bowl week and the generous serving of hype, get a head start. These restaurants will brace you for the big game. San Francisco and Baltimore meet in New Orleans on Feb. 3. Start eating.
Big Daddy's in Massapequa kicks in with a taste of New Orleans. The andouille sausage-and-chicken gumbo, jambalaya, and crawfish any style, bring the Big Easy north. And you can slide over to Baltimore via blue-crab stuffed mushroomr and Lady Day crabcakes.
Noah's in Greenport offers a fine, panko-crusted, pan-seared crabcake, paired with a clery root-and-apple version of sauce remoulade. Also, sample the crab-stuffed deviled eggs. And, just because they're there: Gruyere cheese puffs.
Louie's Oyster Bar & Grille in Port Washington scores with a local spin on cioppino, the seafood stew of San Francisco: shellfish and finfish in a tomato-and-shellfish broth. You'll find Maryland crabcakes and a crab cocktail here, too.
