The sushi bar has become a stage at more Asian restaurants. Here are three places where you can enjoy the show -- and the raw fish. The three also succeed with cooked fare.

New to Huntington is The Black Lantern Sushi Den & Ultra Lounge, a striking two-floor eatery, with sleek, glittery style and a courtyard, too. The sushi bar is upstairs, but you'll find plenty of activity at street-level. The commitment is to the green and the antioxidant, the sustainable and the eco-friendly. The tempuras, sushi rolls and bunless sliders are good.

The Black Lantern Sushi Den & Ultra Lounge is at 10 Wall St., Huntington; 631-923-2022, blacklanternsushiden.com.

Nisen Sushi in Woodbury boasts a dramatic, over-the-top dining area with food that fits right in. Lobster tacos, miso black cod, yellowtail jalapeño, colorful sushi rolls, main dishes such as Kobe filet mignon au poivre and Lola duck in a blood orange-Port wine reduction. Nisen also has a sharp restaurant at 5032 Jericho Tpke. in Commack; 631-462-1000.

Nisen in Woodbury is at 7967 Jericho Tpke.; 516-496-7000, nisensushi.com.

Two Steak & Sushi Den in New Hyde Park is a deftly designed restaurant, modern and elegant. The food is often exceptional, whether you're drawn to the first-class sushi, or dishes such as porterhouse steak with red wine sauce, Painted Hills strip steak, English pea ravioli, lobster salad and seared pork dumplings.

Two is at 1270 Union Tpke., New Hyde Park; 516-358-2222, twoonline.com.
