Ron Gelish, who earned stars for his work at J. Michaels Tuscan Steakhouse in Northport and Mac's in Huntington, now is the chef at the Wild Honey restaurants in Oyster Bay and Port Washington.

Gelish left J. Michaels to focus on "American cuisine, craft beer dinners, different stuff ... I wanted a more fine-dining atmosphere. The steakhouse thing is not for me anymore."

He is dividing his time between the Wild Honey spots, developing the specials for the Oyster Bay branch but in the kitchen primarily in Port Washington.

Vincent P. Michaels of J. Michaels said that he and his staff now oversee the cooking at the Northport establishment.

Wild Honey and Wild Honey on Main both have earned two-star ratings in Newsday. The Oyster Bay restaurant is at  1 E. Main St., 516-922-4690; the Port Washington branch at 172 Main St., 516-439-5324.

At Wild Honey, Oyster Bay.
