Woodbury: Sushi surprise

After a dispiriting visit to National Jean Company in Woodbury, I popped into the neighboring Haiku Asian Bistro for a quick dinner and was very pleased with what I got. I ordered the chirashi expecting a bowl of rice topped with raw fish; what showed up was more like sashimi with a side of rice in a little sake-sipping wooden box. Whatever, the fish was fresh and varied and plentiful and beautifully arranged. Next time I’ll sit at the sushi bar and see exactly what the chefs are capable of.
