World Cup kick off at Plattduetsche in Franklin Square
It will be caipirinhas vs. brews at The Beer Hall at the Plattduetsche Biergarten when the FIFA World Cup 2014 matches begin on Thursday.
The Franklin Square restaurant will offer food platters and drinks inspired by the competing countries. The Beer Hall will be open for every game. The first pits host Brazil against Croatia at 4 p.m.
Expect a crowd on June 26, when it's the United States vs. Germany. The full schedule and additional information about contests and prizes are online at www.parkrestaurant.com.
The Krombacher brewery and LeBlon Cachaca will be highlighted at Plattduetsche. Cachaça, a sugar-can spirit, fuels the caipirinha, the high-octane Brazilian cocktail.
