Somewhere, there will be celebrations tonight, barring a rainout of World Series Game 7 between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers. After the ample agita of these playoffs, the insides will deserve a rest.

I do like St. Louis-style ribs and prefer both Memphis and North Carolina barbecue to the Texas variety, so I'm pulling for Tony LaRussa's comeback crew in the winner-take-all finale. For New York fans, 2011 has been for the birds, anyway.

I know I should have a soft spot for Nolan Ryan, but we are talking about the possibility of a truly insufferable post-game stretch, with extra World Series rings, the White House visit,  and all that. Besides, I'm still a Bob Gibson fan.

If the Cards don't come up aces,  I'll just have to console myself with a visit to  Smokin' Al's or Mara's Homemade,  and think about when pitchers and catchers report.

But, for tonight, I've got  Prilosec and brioschi in the line-up.
