For older seniors, Dec. 7, 1941, is still a day of infamy they will never forget.

The American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale commemorates the 72nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor with a special ceremony next Saturday, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

World War II-era aircraft housed at Republic Airport will take to the skies again and head to the Statue of Liberty, where 72 roses -- one for each year since the attack -- will be dropped from the planes into New York Harbor. Survivors of the attack are scheduled to be at the Airpower Museum ceremony.

Free admission for the morning ceremony. After noon, the admission is $10, $8 for veterans and seniors 65 and older. For details, visit americanairpower museum.com or call 631-293-6398.
