If you are a patron of the arts, you may want to discover the next generation of artists. Perhaps one of these up-and-comers is your grandchild.

The "Colors of Long Island" exhibition at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook features artwork by more than 300 students as selected by art teachers from about 120 schools in Nassau and Suffolk. The works by students in kindergarten through grade 12 include drawings, sculptures, paintings, photos and computer graphics.

Seniors 62 and older can tour the exhibit for free from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, a day the museum is otherwise closed. (Admission to the museum usually is $9, $7 for seniors.)
