The relationship between your teeth and your overall well-being is one that many take for granted. But research has shown bad oral health can worsen many already serious conditions, including cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and diabetes.

You can brush up on your dental health at the latest session of Ward Melville Heritage Organization's ongoing Navigate Your Healthcare series. "Open Wide for a Healthy Body," featuring a panel of dentists, is being held on March 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the organization's Educational and Cultural Center on Main Street in Stony Brook.

The lecture includes food from a local restaurant. Cost is $20. Reservations are required; call 631-689-5888.
