Controlling diabetes means juggling a number of daily tasks. You can get some expert advice at diabetes self-management education classes sponsored by Suffolk County and the Cornell Cooperative Extension.

The four-week series of workshops, which are free and open to all community residents, will teach you how to control your disease by following a healthier lifestyle. You also will learn about medications that can help manage the chronic condition.

You must attend all four sessions of the series at the location where you register. Registration

Elsie Owens North Brookhaven Health Center in Coram, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Oct. 11, 18 and 25 and Nov. 1.

Cornell Cooperative Extension in Riverhead, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31.
