Diabetes events in Riverhead
For those who have diabetes - and those looking for tips on how to avoid getting the chronic disease -- Cornell Cooperative Extension is presenting two events at its Riverhead headquarters.
"Diabetes Defense" will offer information on how diet, exercise and lifestyle changes can lower your risk of diabetes. It will be held July 14, 10-11 a.m. The fee is $8.
For those who have the condition, Cornell is holding a series of diabetes self-management education classes beginning July 7. Classes meet on Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. through July 28. It is recommended you attend the series of four classes, which are free.
