The open enrollment period to choose Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plans for 2015 ends Dec. 7. While most people simply do nothing and let their existing plans automatically roll over, you might be able to save money with a different plan.

Comparing plans is relatively easy using the government's Medicare website (nwsdy.li/medicare2015). But some seniors don't have access to a computer or aren't confident in their computer skills.

You can get information on Medicare programs and personal guidance on navigating the Medicare website at two free seminars sponsored by the Long Island Senior Education Council. The workshops are at East Islip High School in Islip Terrace on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will have access to a computer and get hands-on computer tips and assistance from East Islip High School student volunteers.

Registration is required. Call 631-665-7057.
