Smart Traveler (iOS, Android), the official app from the State Department, offers information about international destinations, travel alerts and warnings. You also can access a list of all U.S. embassies abroad.

NPS National Mall (iOS only) is perfect if a visit to Washington, D.C., is on your summer itinerary. This official app of the National Park Service will help you find all the landmarks in the nation's capital.
