Free seminar on advance directives in Brightwaters on Oct. 8
If you don't know what an advance directive is, you probably don't have one. But you should.
Advance directives are legal documents that let a person you name handle your health care and medical decisions if you are unable to do them yourself. The documents typically include a living will and a durable power of attorney for health care.
To find out more about advance directives, Bay Shore-Brightwaters Public Library is holding a free seminar. "Who Protects You If You Can't Protect Yourself?" will be presented by a physician from Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.
The lecture is Thursday, Oct. 8, 7-9 p.m. For more information, call 631-665-4350.
