Herricks HS will play in Senior Pops concert

An intergenerational concert will prove that there's no generation gap when teens and seniors make beautiful music together.
The Senior Pops Orchestra of Long Island will team with the Herricks High School Chamber Orchestra for a special concert Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011.
The Pops, now in its 32nd year, begins the show with a performance of its signature blend of light classical music, show tunes and pop standards. The Chamber Orchestra takes the stage next with a program of classical music.
The grand finale features the Pops teaming with the teens for two classical pieces and the overture to "Phantom of the Opera."
The concert is tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Rd. in New Hyde Park. A $5 donation is suggested. For more information and directions to the center, call 516-414-1831 or visit visit seniorpops.org.
