Holiday season the time to improve your driving
During the holiday season, you may find yourself driving more than usual, whether it’s short trips to the mall or supermarket or longer trips to visit friends and family. If you’re concerned about your own driving skills, or worried about the driving skills of a loved one, the National Institute on Aging has advice on how to increase the odds you’ll be safe behind the wheel.
Try to limit the amount of time you drive at night and try to avoid driving in bad weather. If you’re heading to someplace unfamiliar, plan your route beforehand to avoid situations you find taxing. For example, you can use Google Maps, either on its website or apps, to plot a trip that avoids highways.
