As first lady, young widow, single mother and working woman, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was an iconic figure in the second half of the 20th century.

Here's a chance to get a glimpse of the real Jackie O behind the public persona at a presentation Thursday at the historic Rogers Mansion in Southampton.

The event, sponsored by the Southampton Historical Museum, features a discussion of Onassis' many roles and accomplishments. It will be illustrated with more than 100 photographs, beginning with a young Jacqueline Bouvier, whose equestrian skills were displayed during the summers she spent as a girl on Long Island.

The $5 admission includes lunch and registration is required. Discussion starts at 11 a.m.; call 631-283-2494 or email EBallou@southamptonhistoricalmuseum.org.
