Meals for Moms feeds hungry mothers

Mother's Day is meant to be a time of joy and remembrance, but for some it's just another day of loneliness and hunger.

Meals on Wheels Association of America is hoping to make the day a little brighter for homebound senior mothers as part of its "Meals for Moms" campaign. You can send a free email Mother's Day card to a homebound mom at the organization's website, mealsformoms.org, which can be viewed until May 15. You also can send an e-card to the mother of your choice.

On the site, you can donate to Meals on Wheels. The not-for-profit organization says one in nine seniors in the United States faces the threat of hunger. Meals on Wheels says a $7 donation will "deliver a nourishing meal to a homebound Mom."
