If you're thinking about your budget for health care next year, Medicare has released some costs for the 2015 Part D prescription drug plan.

The average monthly premium will be about $32, up $1 from this year. But some other potential costs are rising more. The maximum out-of-pocket costs a beneficiary faces will increase to $4,700 in 2015 from $4,550 this year.

Of course, overall costs will vary depending on the plan you choose and the number of drugs you need. Open enrollment for Medicare Part D is Oct. 15-Dec. 7, the same period for enrollment in a Medicare Advantage Plan.

Want a head-start planning for the enrollment period? Sachem Library is holding a workshop covering all Medicare plans and what you can expect next year. The workshop is Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m.-noon. To register, call 631-588-5024 or go to nwsdy.li/medicaresachem.
