Nassau Museum hosts Peter Max exhibit

For boomers and seniors who grew up in the black-and-white world of the 1950s, the turbulent 1960s became a decade bursting with vibrant colors. One of the artists who amped up the palette was Peter Max, whose psychedelic works, such as "Cosmic Runner," above, defined the era.
Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn Harbor is hosting an exhibit of Max's drawings, many featuring the dreamlike and colorful images that made him famous. Max, who was born in Berlin and moved to the United States when he was 16, turns 75 Saturday.
