Living with chronic pain is a daily endurance test. A new app for users of Apple's mobile devices could help make the ordeal a little easier by pinpointing when the problems are most severe and how to better talk with your doctor about solutions.

WebMD Pain Coach offers resources on seven chronic pain conditions: back pain, neck pain, nerve pain, fibromyalgia, migraine, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The app has tools to help you see and save the patterns and triggers that cause flare-ups. There is also access to a wide range of medical advice in both text and video forms.

The app is free for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch and is available online at Apple's iTunes Store (bit.ly/paincoach).
