No-cost tests for Medicare B recipients
The Supreme Court decision in June upholding the Affordable Care Act and the results of the presidential election in November mean health care reform -- or Obamacare -- has a feeling of permanence. Here's an update on some no-cost preventive tests and services available for Medicare Part B recipients under the new health care law.
Flu shot (once a year)
Diabetes screening (once a year)
Cholesterol screening (once every five years)
Bone density measurement (once every two years)
Mammogram screening (once a year)
Prostate cancer screening (once a year)
Colonoscopy (once every two years for people at high risk; once every 10 years for others).
