Estate planning is important for most people, but it's a must for families who have a loved one with Alzheimer's or a family history of the disease.

You can get some help and answers on several legal issues, including Medicaid, wills, transferring of assets and guardianship at a free eldercare workshop presented by the Long Island Alzheimer's Association at the Syosset Public Library Monday at 1 p.m. Other subjects to be discussed include how to manage the assets of a loved one who can no longer handle his or her finances and what happens if the "well" spouse dies first.
