A full day of information, instruction and fun awaits at SeniorFest.
The event, at Central Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Huntington, features exhibits and lectures on numerous topics of interest to seniors, including navigating the Medicare maze, selecting a home-health agency and strategies to prevent falls. There also will be discussions about the stuff in your basement and attic and how to determine whether to save it, donate it or trash it.
Other speakers will touch on music and how it can help preserve memory, elder law, nutrition, exercise and dance. "No matter what time they come, they're going to be pleased, because there are a lot of things going on," says the Rev. R. David Aldridge. If it's a success, it will become an annual event.
SeniorFest is Wednesday, 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. The event, including light refreshments, is free and fully handicap accessible. For more information, call 631-421-3663.
