Stony Brook vintage car show is a gas

You've probably had your share of Labor Day weekends that ended in bumper-to-bumper traffic as you inched back to the Island after a three-day getaway. While this may not be high on your list of pleasant memories, you can recapture happier driving experiences at Stony Brook Village Center.
"America's Love Affair With the Car" ends its summerlong run on Labor Day. The exhibit features cars you may remember from your youth, including a 1956 Thunderbird and a 1965 Mustang convertible. And there are older cars on display, too, including a 1924 Model T.
Tomorrow only, there's an outdoor showcase from the Mustang Shelby Club of Long Island.
The exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children under 12. Call 631-689-5888 or go to stonybrookvillage.com.
