The main concern after being diagnosed with breast cancer is beating the disease. A workshop on Tuesday, sponsored by the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program, is aimed at giving breast cancer patients one of the tools to survive.

"Nutrition and Breast Cancer: Sorting Fact From Fiction" will provide an understanding of the relationship between diet and the disease. Participants will learn what foods to eat and how to prepare healthful meals. The workshop will be presented by a certified specialist in oncology nutrition.

The workshop is free, but it is open only to those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It will be held at Adelphi University's Alumni House from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Registration is required. Call 516-877-4325.
