Tip: Big band set to put you in the mood

Love is in the air in Manhasset with a free Valentine's concert featuring songs from the jazz and swing era.

Long Island's Swingtime Big Band dips into the great American songbook to perform a program of classic love songs made famous by bands led by Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Harry James and Benny Goodman, among others. The band's vocalists will pay tribute to the era's great singers, including Frank Sinatra and Judy

Garland.

The concert is Sunday at 2 p.m. at Manhasset Public Library's community room. Manhasset residents get first crack at the seats until 1:45, then it's open for general admission, space permitting.
