Tip: Cities ill-suited for aging
You've seen several "best cities to retire" lists over the years. Here's the flip side: places you probably don't want to move to.
Health-advice website RealAge.com has a new listing of the "25 Top Cities for Aging Too Fast." The cities were ranked on numerous health-risk factors, including number of diabetes cases, health insurance coverage and household income. Two cities in New York made the list: Rochester (20) and Buffalo (24). RealAge says the No. 1 worst city for aging was Knoxville, Tenn., because of "high rates of drinking, smoking, stress, unemployment, low income, and -- not surprisingly -- the least amount of optimism."
The rest of the top 10 was Louisville, Ky., Memphis Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, Greensboro, N.C., Nashville, Greenville, S.C., Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
