Tip: Dos and don'ts for job Q&As
Employment interviews can be stressful, especially for older job seekers trying to get back into the workforce after a layoff. Those who haven't been on an interview for years may wonder what questions they will face.
In a poll by staffing firm Accountemps, chief financial officers said their favorite questions dealt mainly with personal attributes ("What are your strengths and weaknesses?") and qualifications ("Tell me about your previous experience").
But even as you try to hit a home run, you may get a question that's out of the box. The poll showed that interviewers may spring questions such as "Why would you not hire yourself for this job?" "Is there anything you would change about yourself?" And, "What is your favorite animal?"
