If you're a family caregiver or expect to become one soon, a free conference may give you the tools to deal with your enormous responsibilities.
"Coping With the Challenges of Caregiving," presented by Dowling College's Center for Intergenerational Policy and Practice, will offer guidance on estate planning, asset preservation and Medicaid eligibility. There will be advice on how to find and pay for home care help as well as tips on how caregivers must be vigilant about protecting their own health.
The conference is Tuesday, 6-8:30 p.m. at Dowling's Rudolph Campus in Oakdale. A light dinner will be served. For more information or to register, call 631-390-5000.
