The Grammys have been handed out and the Academy Award nominees have been announced. But award season wouldn't be complete without the Nassau Senior Citizen of the Year.

You can nominate a senior for the award through Friday. The award is given to a Nassau County resident who has "demonstrated outstanding concern and action for human services and community involvement for any age group." The nominee must live in Nassau and be 60 or older. The candidate cannot be an employee of an organization or agency unless he or she is doing unpaid volunteer work.

To get an entry form, call 516-227-8987. The winner will receive the award at the Department of Senior Citizen Affairs' annual luncheon at the Long Island Marriott Hotel in May.
