Tip: Keeping track of your medications
If you're finding it hard to keep track of the whens, hows and whys of your prescription drugs, Uncle Sam has some free help.
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality is offering a free wallet card you can use to record information about your medications. The card is not only useful as a reminder for you, it can be shown to your doctor and pharmacist to make sure you are not taking a potentially problematic combination of drugs.
The card is part of "Your Medicine: Be Smart. Be Safe," a helpful booklet with scores of tips and advice. The booklet can be downloaded at 1.usa.gov/j47nTN. If you want to print out the wallet card only, go to 1.usa.gov/walletcard.
To get a free printed copy of the booklet and the card, call 800-358-9295.
