About this time 52 years ago, the doo-wop group Danny and the Juniors had a big hit featuring the lyric "Rock 'n' roll is here to stay, it will never die." But when was rock and roll born?

You can get a look back at rock's formative days when the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor presents "The Pioneers of Rock" Monday at 8 p.m. The show, hosted by documentary filmmaker Joe Lauro, features early rockers in rare clips of live performances, and pre-rockers Fats Domino, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Ruth Brown and others. There also will be clips of a very young Elvis Presley.

Tickets are $15. Call 631-725-9500 or go to baystreet.org.
